Free, just a username and passphrase, no email. Caches you build show up in My Caches so you can reopen and edit them without hunting for the edit link, and watch plays and wins. The same account syncs My Puzzle Texts across devices and manages your short links.

Do not put sensitive, personal, or inappropriate content in a cache. Anything you create here is public to anyone with the link, and you are responsible for what you publish. Keep a copy of your edit key, it is the only way to change or delete your cache later.

Play your own cache before you publish it

Settings that look fair in this form can be brutal, or trivial, in the field. Finish the game yourself, start to end, on the kind of device your finders will use, and check that the difficulty, timers, hints, wording, and the final reveal all behave the way you intended. Every cache you create here comes with a play link and an edit link, so you can test it, tune it, and test it again before anyone else sees it.

Fruit Drop is a falling puzzle on a tree full of fruit. Any fruit can be tapped, so the question is never which one a player is allowed to take, it is where the one they take will end up. A tapped fruit falls, rolls off the side of whatever it lands on and carries on down into a chute of four slots, unless the roll is blocked by a fruit right beside it or by the trunk, in which case it wedges up there until something frees it. Two of a kind landing together in the chute pop into the basket. Clear the whole tree to finish the level. Fill all four slots with no pair and the level starts over on a fresh tree. Clearing your level goal reveals the final coordinates or keyword.

Every level is replayed on the server. The browser records the taps a player makes, the server rebuilds the same tree and plays those taps itself, and only a level that was really cleared counts. Players are only ever given the tree they are standing on, never the levels ahead, and your reveal is not in the page until the server sends it. Every tree is also solved by the generator before it is handed out, so there is no such thing as a tree that cannot be finished.

Your cache

Only the site admin can see this, in case they need to reach you about your cache. Never shown to players.

Puzzle settings

How many levels a player must clear before they can claim the reveal. 1 to 40. Each level grows the tree upward, hides another row above the screen and eventually puts another kind of fruit in play, which is what actually makes it harder: the chute only holds four.

The trunk splits the tree down the middle and blocks a roll, so a fruit beside it wedges instead of rolling clear. Mixing it in changes the shape of the puzzle as a player climbs.

Extra help

Both of these make your puzzle easier. The tree is taller than the screen, so a lot of the thinking is deciding which fruit to spend to clear the bottom row, and these two let a player back out of that decision. They are off unless you turn them on.

On solve, reveal

Shown only after a player clears your level goal. Reveal either the final coordinates or a keyword, not both.

Where can I host an image for free?

Paste a direct https:// link to an image. Free image hosts that give a direct link include ImgBB, postimages.org, and Cloudinary. A geocaching.com image link works too. The link must start with https://.

Keep your cache in play to keep it live. Share the play link so people visit it; unused caches are cleaned up over time.
