Free, just a username and passphrase, no email. Caches you build show up in My Caches so you can reopen and edit them without hunting for the edit link, and watch plays and wins. The same account syncs My Puzzle Texts across devices and manages your short links.

Do not put sensitive, personal, or inappropriate content in a cache. Anything you create here is public to anyone with the link, and you are responsible for what you publish. Keep a copy of your edit key, it is the only way to change or delete your cache later.

Play your own cache before you publish it

Settings that look fair in this form can be brutal, or trivial, in the field. Finish the game yourself, start to end, on the kind of device your finders will use, and check that the difficulty, timers, hints, wording, and the final reveal all behave the way you intended. Every cache you create here comes with a play link and an edit link, so you can test it, tune it, and test it again before anyone else sees it.

Egg Run is a two-pedal driving game. A chunky car carries a smiling egg loosely on a flat tray on its roof, and rolls over hill after hill. There are two controls: gas on the right and brake on the left, and the brake backs the car up once it has stopped. The egg is not tied down. Every stab of the throttle slides it toward the tail, every bit of brake throws it toward the nose, and every landing jolts it. When it slides off the tray the run is over.

Distance markers count up every ten meters, gold coins sit along the hills for the fun of it, and a checkered flag stands at the distance you ask for. Cross that flag with the egg still aboard and the reveal is banked the instant the front wheel passes it. Players can keep driving afterward for coins and distance, and losing the egg on that victory lap costs them nothing at all.

The hills get taller and steeper the further the car gets, and the difficulty you pick sets how fast that happens. Gentle is a drive anyone can finish, normal asks for a careful throttle, and brutal turns every crest into a decision. That is also why the distance you are allowed to ask for shrinks as the difficulty rises, because we measure what a real driver can actually cover before letting you publish it.

The whole drive is replayed on the server. The browser records only the steps at which a pedal went down or came up, and the server rebuilds the same hills and drives them itself, at those exact moments, before it accepts the run. Players are only ever sent the stretch of road they have already reached, never the road ahead, and that road cannot be collected faster than it could be driven. Your reveal is not in the page until the server sends it, and it is banked the moment the goal flag is passed, so anything that happens after that costs nothing.

Your cache

Shown to players as a link to your cache page.

Only the site admin can see this, in case they need to reach you about your cache. Never shown to players.

Game settings

Difficulty

Car color

The paint is decoration only. It never changes the hills or how the car drives.

A harder difficulty lowers the furthest you are allowed to ask for, because we measure what a real drive can actually cover before letting you publish it. The distance field moves its own ceiling when you change the difficulty. Caches you have already published are untouched by that.

On solve, reveal

Shown only after a player reaches your goal. Reveal either the final coordinates or a keyword, not both.

Where can I host an image for free?

Paste a direct https:// link to an image. Free image hosts that give a direct link include ImgBB, postimages.org, and Cloudinary. A geocaching.com image link works too. The link must start with https://.

Keep your cache in play to keep it live. Share the play link so people visit it; unused caches are cleaned up over time.
