A donut sits in the middle of the field. Rings appear at the edge and shrink toward it. Tap anywhere on the field, or press the space bar or Enter, at the moment a ring lands on the donut.
The soft band around the donut is the window. A ring inside it can be answered, and the closer to the middle of it you tap, the better: a tap right on the beat is a perfect, which builds your streak.
A twin, two rings close together, wants two quick taps. There is always room for both.
A pink ring with a heart on it patches a crack, if you have one to patch. It never banks a repair for a mistake you have not made yet.
Letting a ring go by cracks the donut, and so does tapping when there is nothing in the window, so drumming on the screen is the fastest way to break it. Enough cracks and the donut breaks and the run is over.
The rings close faster as the run goes on, so the same window gives you less time to read it. Your score is rings hit, and nothing else: perfects and streaks are for the fireworks and never change what the cache needs.
The moment you reach the goal your reveal is locked in and safe, even if the donut breaks on the very next ring.
Sound and vibration are both off until you turn them on, with the two small buttons above the field. Vibration needs its own switch on, and what it does depends on the phone. On an Android phone the buzzes tell the moments apart, so a perfect and a miss feel different. On an iPhone or iPad you feel your own tap and nothing else, because that is the only thing iOS lets a web page do.
